■ Introduction

This 1960s home has been thoughtfully updated with contemporary touches, where the striking simplicity of our Flux staircase complements the Art Deco-inspired interior. Spanning three floors, the design includes a feature double-width alternating tread staircase on the lower level, cleverly making use of an awkward space beneath the flight above while maintaining a clean, elegant aesthetic throughout.

■ The Challenge

The original single-width lower flight would have wasted space, and the homeowners wanted a staircase that reflected their Gatsby-inspired, gold-accented style.

■ The Solution

Feature double-width and double-height steps create informal seating and a grand, welcoming gesture at the lower level. The staircase blends functionality with theatrical flair, perfectly complementing the home’s design details.
